Here is my Lo for Sue's November Challenge.  My lovely girl at the CARA Championships.

Wednesday 22 October 2014

Today I've made this mini book that has some flip pages and a pocket with a little book in it. I'm going to put some photos of things that have happened and we have done during 2014.
I used some project life cards that a friend got me for my birthday and some papers from my stash.

A lovely scrappy day

I went to a lovely crop yesterday and was a busy bee!! I completed some challenges for uks and did a couple of Layouts for myself. I also put together a couple of pages for Project life, they were virtually done but not quite finished. I had a very lovely day.

Mini albums - so cute

My lovely friend Susi has a wonderful blog and she made some of these fab little albums which were totally ideal for some little photos I found of the kids from over the years.

I have to add a few more pages to Georges because some more tiny photos turned up!!! It's easy to do though so that is fortunate.

I just need to decorate the front covers this evening and then will add that photo tomorrow.

Rindas Summer Scavenger Photo Hunt

I'm still enjoying following along with Rindas Photography Scavenger Hunt, although since I've been looking for birds on a wire not a single bird has sat on a wire in my vicinity, they obviously know!!!!

Today I have succeeded in uploading 2 photos taken on Saturday while I walked my Mother in Laws (exceedingly fat, but that's another story, dog) I couldn't choose which one to use. I love the fact that within a stones throw of our house are fields and fields and fields. You can walk a long way right up over the downs if you so wish with only a little bit of road to negotiate.

The fat dog is never overly impressed when I turn up to walk her but I persevere in the hope that she gets keener!!! She's the only dog I've ever come across that doesn't like a walk. She liked the fields a little bit but still trotted behind me in a resigned fashion.

Any way on with the photos.

I look forward to continuing my hunt and hopefully some birds will see fit to sit on a wire!!!

Prom Minibook

Never have I blogged so much in one week!!!

This weekends question was what to do with the photos I took on Prom night. They were quite happy on the computer, shared on Facebook and Instagram, shown about the place, work etc on my phone. However it didn't feel the same as having them to hold as photos in our hands.

So I joined freeprints  it's very cool. Give it a try, shameless plug, please add lcoleman22 if you decide to try it!! You get a certain amount of photos free each month, more for sharing on facebook, twitter and friends registering with your code!! and just pay postage, max £3.99.

I got started on the mini book as I've had a few days off work and then the photos came yesterday so I got to work on putting them in. I'm pleased with it and just have a few photo tags and journalling to add tomorrow, but I wanted to photograph it for here and uks without the journalling as I want to add the kids names, etc.

Sue's June Challenge.

This is my layout for Sue's June sketch challenge. The lyrics from the song in Mamma Mia make me cry everytime I watch it,  i can't help it and I think it will always make me cry!!! I'm such a baby when it comes to films.

This photo of Charlotte was taken at her 16th birthday party with her amazing cake, she rows in case you havent heard me mention it, lol!!!!!

I've been using the challenges over on Uks to scrap the photos Charlotte & friends have taken as they have left school this past week.

Cyber Tag

The lovely Jen tagged me in a blog hop about crafting. I can't confess to having an as exciting in real life tag story to tell like Jen, we don't have a tag ritual although I might confuse the kids one day and start one!!!!

Here goes with the craft info.

The questions the blog hop poses are

How does my work differ from others?
Why do I create what I do?
How does your creative process work?
What am I working on?

I started this blog so that I could share my crafting with like minded individuals. I sometimes get round to blogging and do go through periods where I keep more up to date but more often than not I have phases where life rudely gets in the way of my blogging.

I never really think that my crafting is going to be interesting to others but I have some kindly friends on uks who seem quite keen!!!  I think I tend to have an easily influenced style, I see things others do and think ooh I like that and then sometimes have a go, unless it involves a lot of inks, etc and if you ask anyone who has seen me with ink they'll tell you that ink and I don't mix!!! It tends to end up very messy and often looking like a massacre.

I usually try and do the weekly challenges over on ukscrappers as I find these good for inspiration and getting some photos scrapped that I might not have done otherwise.  Lately I have been doing Project life and enjoying using this technique to record the little things that happen in our life. I use a mixture of official Becky Higgins products and also my own papers and embellishments for my layouts.

I am recording memories primarily for myself I want to remember what we did, what we enjoyed and sometimes what we didnt!!! My Nan has Dementia and recently her memory has deteriorated, even though dementia is not necessarily hereditary it has made me realise that it would be good to have memory triggers. It can't do any harm.

I don't mind recording the not so great stuff but mostly we're a happy lot here so that tends to make for positive memories. However I did take rather a lot of photos of the hospital treatment involved when I broke my wrist!!!!  If the kids/future grand kids want to look through my albums then that will be a bonus. I would love to have albums, info, etc that my parents and grandparents had done but sadly there arnt any although I am lucky that there are a lot of photos I am working my way through for my ancestry album. I have included one below.

I sometimes don't have much time for scrapping but I'm definitely more chilled and at peace with myself and everyone else if I've had a bit of time to myself. Now the kids are older I have more time as they are off out doing there own thing sometimes but  sometimes work and family resposibilities (inlaws, etc) get in the way!!

This week I've had a bit of time so caught up with last weeks Project life, Charlotte is leaving school (I'm having a little crisis about it!) so we went to get her a prom dress from Camden Market. We had a lovely day out together and found the dress she wanted, I wasn't very helpful because I thought she looked beautiful in all of them.  She modeled it begrudgingly for me when we got home. I'm hoping for some better photos on prom night.

Another thing I like to capture for my Project life is the kids when they don't know it!! They say I'm creepy, lol. I love that they get on so well. Obviously they fall out from time to time but mostly they enjoy each others company. I took this photo on Shoreham beach at the weekend and was quite a distance from the kids climbing on the rocks.

I keep meaning to go on a photography course, I even now know someone whos husband runs courses on Brighton beach, sounds ideal so I must get organised and book on so that I can get off auto properly!!!!

One of my ancestry layouts.

I tag a lady whose blog I started visiting a while back and now we are friends on facebook. I love her blog it is lovely, Monika will have a post up and running next Monday. Thanks for stopping by.

Minibook

This is a minibook I have made to record Charlottes rowing competitions this year. She starts on Saturday with her anniversary competition The Sussex Indoor Mile. I can't decide if it's quite right for a rowing book, I might make another and see how I feel, I'm sure I can find a use for another!!

Thanks for looking.
